Mr. and Mrs. 420 Returns was released on August 15. Directed by Ksshitij Chaudhary, the movie revolves around marriage and financial troubles and the ways adopted by the characters to avoid these troubles. The journey of the characters wherein they are seen interchanging their sexes takes us along a comic ride throughout the movie.
Every role has been acted by the cast quite meticulously. Ranjit Bawa slips into his character so wonderfully that it seems the role was exclusively written for him by Naresh Kathooria. Ranjit Bawa in the role of Balli and Jassie Gill in the role of Laddi marry each other in order for Balli to get his property and Laddi to get his love interest. Rupali Gupta who debuts as an actress has also played her part well. Karamjit Anmol in the role of Gill’s mother, Ganga, comes as a surprise package and will baffle the audience every time he comes on screen.
The one character who will amaze the audience is doubtlessly Jassie Gill who unintentionally lures Gurpreet Ghuggi into his charm. On the other hand, to aggravate the situation, Jaswinder Bhalla falls for tJassie Gill’s mother. The confusion and drama follows as usual, which is the characteristic feature of most of the Punjabi films.
The first half of the film also describes the use and abuse of drugs in Punjab in a rather plain way and the second half of the film is replete with Karamjit Anmol trying to make every moment as laughable as possible.
Jassie Gill and Karamjit Anmol who play the role of mother and daughter gypsies have been taken complete care of in terms of their costume, language and behaviour. The background score of the movie could have been improved in order to bring life to the comic scenes in the film. The music of the film is given by JK and the songs are being loved by the fans.
The movie makes the audience laugh and how two people of the same sex are involved in a romance is something which promises entertainment.
