Jagdeep Sidhu, one of the most talented writers Pollywood has had, is making his directorial debut with his upcoming film Qismat which stars Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta. In an interview with Daah Films, he shared with us his experiences and his expectations from Qismat.

Talking about the subject of the film, he said that the philosophy of this film has been inspired by the real life story of his roommate and friend in Mumbai. The characters, though, are not an imitation of any real person but the inspiration for the film has been real.

Jagdeep Sidhu has previously worked as a writer for Harjeeta, Nikka Zaildar 1 and 2, and Sargi. Apart from this, he has also worked in Bollywood as well. Prior to making this film, it was one of his very close friends who advised him to make this particular story into a Punjabi film and not a Bollywood film.

The story of Qismat was with Sidhu even before the song ‘Qismat’ was released but it was only at the success party of this song that he decided to bring the story into action. Following Qismat, Sidhu will be directing Shadaa which has another famous and loved star cast of Pollywood- Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa.

A very inspiring person to talk to, Sidhu is quite confident that Qismat will definitely be loved by people, it is such an amazing concept. It was the subject of this film that turned him into a director. Well, if it was such a powerful subject that has made Jagdeep Sidhu a director, we are sure whatever he has created will be as powerful and appealing.
