Jagjeet Sandhu amazed his fans with his dialogues and acting in the recent superhit ‘Dakuaan da Munda’. The theatre artist, who gathered a lot of praise and plaudit for his role in Punjabi films, has bagged a pivotal role in one of the three series announced by Netflix.

A number of Punjabi actors like Diljit Dosanjh, Gippy Grewal, and Jassi Gill have already made it big to Bollywood but for an actor like Jagjeet Sandhu, with not a hundred of films to his credit, but an impression and an impact which has been long-lasting, it is indeed a big triumph to score a role in one of the originals by Netflix.

Netflix has announced three series: ‘Leila’, ‘Ghoul’, and ‘Crocodile’. This will be the addition to the previously produced ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Selection Day’, and ‘Bard of Blood’ which were also based out of India. The kind of hype and excitement that has been created by ‘Sacred Games’ has taken the Netflix Indian audience in its grip and with the announcement of these three series, its grip will even take a stronger hold.

“We are proud to continue to invest in original content in India. These three series, from the scary to the supernatural, represent the tremendous diversity that Indian storytelling holds for a global audience. We are thrilled to work with some of the world’s most talented writers and producers to bring these stories to life for India and the world.” said Erik Barmack, vice president of international original series, at Netflix.

Jagjeet Sandhu will be seen in the series titled ‘Leila‘, which will be written and produced by Urmi Juvekar who is an acclaimed screenwriter and documentary film-maker. It is based on the book by the same name written by Prayaag Akbar. It is a bleak story of a mother and daughter who were parted from each other some sixteen years ago. A dystopia with futuristic elements in it, the story talks about the role that power and corruption play in one’s life.

It will be exciting to see the role Jagjeet Sandhu will be playing in this series.
